Hair Salons - Should they be called SCARE salons?
The lack of knowledge & understanding that exists in the hair styling profession about the processes & treatments that are used on a daily basis on client's hair is scary!
There have been some pretty scary contraptions as well as numerous chemical concoctions used in the hair & beauty industry over the last 100 years or so. If you spoke to your Grandmother, she could relay some horror stories about getting her hair permed back then. Burnt scalps & hair were a risk that they took. There wasn't a choice. Back then the chemicals were very dangerous to both the client & the hair stylist.
But we have come a long way in the last 100 years, space flight, medical breakthroughs, Nano technology, MP3 players, computers & science advancements galore.
With all these advancements in so many fields & areas, can someone explain to me why a chemical such as ammonia, which is used in explosives, fetilizer & cleaning products is still widely used in hair salons in hair color?
Isn't it time hair salons & the hair stylists running them start asking the question where is the advancement that other fields & professions have achieved & enjoy?
